We offer help with reading, writing, math, and GED preparation. The LCLC attempts to match learners seeking help with tutors living or working in the same area. By allowing tutors to work individually with learners to find the methods that work best for them, the LCLC provides options for personalized learning that helps people improve in areas they need it most.
All tutoring services are provided one-to-one. This kind of personal connection is one of the reasons LCLC tutoring works. It’s also one of the reasons our tutors love what they do. It is a personal way to give someone a helping hand that will last a life-time. Our success depends on tutors who donate their time and knowledge. The Lee County Literacy Coalition provides all instructional materials, so the services are completely free of charge to both tutors and learners.
The Lee County Literacy Coalition uses our GED Academy program to prepare our learners to pass the GED test. When the learner uses GED Academy, it helps identify the areas they need help from a tutor. Our tutors have helped hundreds of individuals achieve their personal goals, and begin a new chapter of their lives by attaining their GED.
Many of our tutors have extensive experience in secondary education and love to help others achieve their goals, whether they are earning their GED, or simply want to learn to read to their children and grandchildren. We also have adults that come to learn to read the Bible.
